The Story Factory
A qualified production facility through the Pennsylvania [PA] State Film Office. We’ve been approved as a location where studios and productions may receive up to a 30% tax credit for utilizing our space for their applicable filming and production needs.
With our extensive network of vendors and connections throughout the city while being within city limits, our space could be an exceptional option for studios, filming crews, news stations, performers, entertainers, and companies in need of a qualified production facility. We meet the standards including a loading dock meeting access door requirements, robust grid load, reliable power, scalable lighting capabilities, and ample creative space. Whether it’s for a TV show, podcast, news segment, commercial, event coverage, or niche film, we’ve got a place where creatives find a haven and creativity finds a home, all with the potential tax credit for qualified expenses.
Founded in 2022 by Ashlee & Elijah Hollis, The Story Factory was created as a response to a need for Helm Creative Studio to find a home and for there to be a space within city limits for Philadelphia communities and creatives. After our own small but mighty team gutted, reworked, painted, and built much of the sets and filming locations within the building, we’re thrilled to have received our distinction as a qualified production facility by the Pennsylvania [PA] State Film Office in 2026.
With our commitment to valuing people over production and ensuring that we support creatives and exceptional storytelling, we’re honored to become a landmark for filming and production tax credits in support of the creative economy throughout our city and country.
FUN FACT
The mural on our building was painted by international artist Alloyius Mcilwaine, who painted his 200th mural in Philadelphia at our space. It’s been featured in a publication and has been added to over the years with additional art by local artists. While Alloyius has painted most of the exterior, it’s a testament to the creativity, art, and intention of our space being a place where creatives find a haven and creativity finds a home.

The Story Factory has met the requirements for an approved qualified production facility with the Pennsylvania [PA] State Film Office.

14’ access door which is also a private loading dock for talent and/or equipment

Recording studios with soundproof outfitting
Studios built for photography and video production
Over 12,000+ sq. ft. of creative workspace, in addition to the studios/sound stage for filming [can be utilized to build a set, staging area, etc.]
Kitchen space for catering, meals, and Crafty
Security features including a keypad for seamless entry and multi-code capabilities for secure access
Areas with 20’ ceilings with truss system
Green Room for costumes, including changing areas or wardrobe
Meeting spaces for production teams
Sound stages, including sound board and sound system capabilities
Professional lighting capabilities
Extensive upper and lower level space and rooms for a myriad of options for production and filming teams
Space within city limits
Quick access to highways, public transportation, and local businesses
The Story Factory is able to be utilized for businesses and production companies or entities to receive up to a 30% tax credit for those who meet their eligible spending requirements through the utilization of our space.
